Noori the band of two brothers, Ali Noor & Ali Hamza. The band name noori is not derived from Ali Noor’s name, it is actually a persian word which means “Light”. Noori released their first ever album called “Suno Kay Mein Hun Jawan” in 2003. Then they released their second album which is called “Peeli Patti Aur Raja Jani Ki Gol Dunya” in 2005.
After their second album we didn’t see noori much happening, it was Coke Studio which brought noori back to the music industry, Noori were the part of Coke Studio Season 2 (2009) & 3 (2010). Then after this Coke Studio thing, they re-started their music passion, and we saw them rocking at some concerts here in Pakistan as well as outside Pakistan. They also performed at the Oslo Mela 2010.
Anyways, coming back to the topic. Yes where is Noori’s third album. It was in 2005 when they released their second and also the last album till now. Noori has been doing this video blogs thing after the coke studio scene, and with this they keep on sharing about their new & upcoming projects, as just recently they told about their Record Label company called “BIY” through their video blog.
On 9th July, 2010 noori uploaded their 5th video blog and guess what? They announced about their upcoming album, and also told the viewers that they have actually locked the date for it and it will be released in 2010, but unfortunately it didn’t happen. According to them it was because of the flood attack in Pakistan, and they don’t think it’s the appropriate time for them to release their album (Yes, we agree but the floods are gone & everybody is back to their business). On this video blog they also gave a few seconds teaser of their song “Hey Ya” which will be the part of their 3rd album.
Then, on 26th July 2010 noori uploaded their 6th video blog, and the video was about their upcoming album. They showed their new studio, and in the video Ali Noor said,
Kal say hamari recordings shuru hoo rahi hain (English: Our recording sessions are starting from tomorrow).
They never told about their album name but the rumors spread out everywhere with the false album names, also they cleared that in this video blog. Okay, the point of this video blog was that they wanted to show-off their new studio (Just joking), they wanted to show that they are really working on the album, and they are excited enough too.
Before the album announcement the band also shared their views on not-so-welcoming performance of “Tan Dolay” which was done for Coke Studio season 3 and it was a collaboration with Zeb & Haniya. They told that they are re-making this song again with Zeb & Haniya for their third studio album. Then later, they actually released “Tan Dolay” Studio Version on their website, and it will also be the part of their upcoming album.
On 29th July 2010, band uploaded their 7th Video Blog – and this video blog had the footage of them having a jam with Salman Albert for noori’s upcoming album’s song “Hey Ya”. The jam was liked by everyone, and the comments on the video by their fans showed that they are desperately waiting to hear noori’s third album.
After this, the band just disappeared. The band stopped talking about their third album, just once they talked when they came back after their performance at Oslo Mela. Where they said, the album will get delayed a ‘LITTLE’ or something like that. The fans were okay with the decision, but actually the band just stopped talking about their third album. They were like ignoring, or God knows why what happened? Did the floods in Pakistan excuse made them too lazy.
We have the answer to it, according to our intelligent mind we figured out what noori wants, and what are they actually trying to do. Noori recently shared about their Record Label thing it is called “BIY”, and they told that they will not only be releasing their album but also of other musicians too, as they are releasing Qayaas’s first album very soon. This might be the reason, yes this. Noori wanted to release their album under their record label that’s why they delayed, and now the album seems pretty close or may be very close to us.
This is just what we think, but still we will look for what they have to say on this. We hope they release their third album as soon as possible, as it looks difficult for us to wait anymore.
